HCC Shortlisted for Prestigious “Community and Charity Champions” Award
20th Aug 2025
We are delighted to share that HCC Solicitors has been shortlisted for the “Community and Charity Champions” award category at the British Wills and Probate Awards 2025, with the winners to be announced at the ceremony on 9th October 2025.
This nomination is a proud moment for our entire team and a reflection of our deep commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), community engagement, and charitable support. At HCC Solicitors, our ‘Family First’ ethos is more than a client care philosophy, it’s a guiding principle that shapes how we serve, support, and stand alongside individuals and families facing life after injury, trauma, or bereavement.
A Year of Meaningful Impact
Over the past 12 months, we’ve significantly expanded our CSR efforts across three key areas: fundraising, pro bono legal support, and volunteering.
Our team has taken part in a wide range of fundraising activities, from marathons and bake sales to shark dives and even a cardboard car escape challenge by Director Rob Myer, raising funds for Brake, a road safety charity. In total, we supported over 20 charities this year, with participation from every level of the firm.
We also launched an in-house Pro Bono Team, led by a disability advocate, to provide free legal assessments, early-stage rehabilitation guidance, and benefit advocacy. Our former police consultants offer additional support to victims navigating trauma, particularly around the Family Liaison process.
Volunteering is another cornerstone of our approach. Our people regularly dedicate time to causes like Horatio’s Garden, where they help maintain therapeutic spaces for spinal injury patients, and the Matt Hampson Foundation, where our support has contributed to a major expansion of rehabilitation services.
Values in Action
Every initiative we undertake is rooted in our core values: empathy, empowerment, and community. Our CSR work is not an add-on, it’s an extension of our legal mission. Whether it’s supporting families through the Child Brain Injury Trust, offering inclusive leadership in charity events, or launching our new Environmental Focus Group, we are committed to making a difference both inside and outside the firm.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited to continue building on this momentum in the year ahead, deepening partnerships with charities and increasing staff volunteering opportunities with full Board support.
Rob Myer says: “Being shortlisted for this award is a testament to the passion and dedication of our people. We’re honoured to be recognised and look forward to celebrating with our peers in October.”
