We are delighted to have joined a programme that supports people with Down’s syndrome to access work.

The WorkFit programme, run by the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA), matches employers with adults with Down’s syndrome who are looking for work. The programme ensures that people with Down’s syndrome are given opportunities to learn and work in a fulfilling and supportive business environment.

As a result of the programme, Bilal has joined our team at our headquarters in Manchester.

We’re very happy to welcome Bilal to our team. It’s pleasing to see that he has settled in quickly and our team of more than two hundred staff are getting to know him and understanding more about Down’s syndrome.

We hope that by highlighting our positive experience with the programme other employers will step forward and join up so that Down’s syndrome can be demystified and more people can see what a valuable contribution people with the condition can make to a business.

Francis Austin, Employment Development Officer for the Northwest region of the Down’s Syndrome Association, said:

Work Fit has the ability to break down barriers, allowing people with Down’s syndrome to access work, feel valued and become part of their community. We’re delighted that leading law firm HCC has joined the programme and we’re confident that Bilal and his new colleagues will all benefit.

Welcome to our team Bilal.
