12th Apr 2022

Horwich Cohen Coghlan (HCC) Solicitors confirms that a settlement has been reached between our client Nick Bailey and Wiltshire Police in relation to the events surrounding the Novichok nerve agent poisonings in Salisbury in 2018. The details of the settlement are confidential.

Patrick Maguire, partner at law firm Horwich Cohen Coghlan (HCC) Solicitors, said:

“We are pleased to reach this settlement with Wiltshire Police which brings this litigation to a conclusion. All the issues connected to this case have had a major impact, not just on our client and his family, but the nation as a whole. We are grateful for the collaborative approach demonstrated by Wiltshire Police over the past few months which now puts our client and his family in a position to move on with his life.”

“Life has never been the same since that day in 2018 for Nick and this feels like a huge step forward in terms of getting some level of closure. Although the last four years have been incredibly challenging for our client, we’re all pleased to have reached this settlement in the end. Nick is proud and privileged to have served in the Police and this will never change.

“On behalf of Nick and the family we’d like to thank the public from around the world who have supported him as well as his friends, former colleagues and most importantly his family. The family now requests privacy from the media as they move forward with their lives”
