We’re Finalists! HCC Solicitors Shortlisted in Three Categories at the Manchester Legal Awards 2025
6th May 2025
We are thrilled to share that HCC Solicitors has been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Manchester Legal Awards 2025, recognising our outstanding people, our cases, and our commitment to our clients’ legal care.
We are shortlisted for the following categories:
-
Personal Injury/Clinical Negligence Team of the Year
-
Medium Law Firm of the Year
-
Trainee/Paralegal/Legal Exec of the Year (Emma Neild)
These shortlists represent the dedication, expertise and values that drive everything we do, and we could not be prouder of the people behind them.
A Standout Year for Our Serious Injury & Clinical Negligence Team
Our Serious Injury and Clinical Negligence Team has had a landmark year, both in terms of impact and complexity. One standout case involved a four-year-old child who sustained life-altering brain injuries linked to an illness contracted while abroad. Navigating international legal complexities, insurance issues, and the sudden liquidation of a key defendant, our team secured immediate access to funding for a 24-hour care package, adapted accommodation, and intensive rehabilitation.
Beyond litigation, we remain committed to making a real difference in our clients’ lives. Over the past 12 months, our Manchester team has secured over £30 million in damages for clients, while delivering an exceptional service that has earned us high satisfaction ratings and scores on Review Solicitors.
We are extremely pleased that our team’s achievements have been recognised by the Manchester Legal Awards.
HCC Named as Medium Law Firm of the Year Finalist
This nomination celebrates the evolution of our Manchester office, which has been driven by our family first ethos.
Key developments include:
-
The expansion of our in-house pro bono Client Support Team, offering immediate legal guidance, welfare advocacy, and rehabilitation access
-
Representation in life-changing cases including spinal injuries, international homicides, and serious road traffic incidents
-
Continued work with vital organisations such as the Child Brain Injury Trust, Brake, and the Down Syndrome Association, to name but a few.
We have also doubled down on wellbeing and inclusion through the work of our DEAR Group (Diversity, Equality, Anti-Racism) and launched internal wellbeing initiatives, flexible working, neurodiversity training, and employee forums, to ensure everyone at HCC thrives.
Emma Neild: Finalist for Paralegal of the Year
Emma’s shortlisting for Trainee/Paralegal/Legal Exec of the Year is a proud moment for the firm, and one which is well deserved.
Emma has shown compassion, maturity, and exceptional skills across a range of complex matters. From successfully negotiating improved compensation for grieving family members in a fatality case, to building trust and managing expectations with challenging clients, always with empathy and care.
Emma is a shining example of how lived experience can enhance client care and strengthen legal practice.
What This Means to Us
At the heart of all three shortlistings is our family first approach, a philosophy that guides not just how we work with clients, but how we treat our people and support our community.
These shortlists are more than accolades. They reflect the real impact of putting people first, whether they are injured, grieving, working with us, or trusting us to deliver justice in their most difficult moments.
We look forward to celebrating with our peers at the Manchester Legal Awards in June. In the meantime, we want to thank our team, our clients, and our partners for making this an extraordinary year.
