We are pleased to have launched our new office in Birmingham and we are on a recruitment drive as we launch a team specialising in major trauma and serious injury cases.

We are delighted to confirm that the new team is headed up by Birmingham-based serious injury lawyer Joe Speed.

Joe joins us as a partner from Slater & Gordon where he specialised in working on high-value and complex claims and actions for clients suffering from serious brain and orthopaedic injuries. He was cited as a Next Generation Lawyer in The Legal 500, 2019.

We are proud to have pioneered a Major Trauma service that launched in 2017, which supports people who have been treated under the NHS Major Trauma pathway. The service, led by our partner Mike Molloy, places greater emphasis on rehabilitation for clients who have been seriously injured.

David Horwich, director of Horwich Cohen Coghlan, said:

Birmingham and the West Midlands are the logical step for our practice as we launch our first office outside of Manchester. The highly skilled talent pool of lawyers in Birmingham means we can recruit excellent professionals in the city and expand our major trauma and serious injury service for clients.

In Joe we have a fantastic lawyer and leader who understands the physical, emotional, and financial difficulties that seriously injured clients face following accidents. We are all excited to have him on board.

Joe Speed, partner at HCC Solicitors in Birmingham, said:

I’m delighted to join HCC and I’m looking forward to building and developing a first-class team specialising in major trauma and serious injury cases. Birmingham is a hotspot for professionals who can aid in the rehabilitation and support for people who have suffered serious injuries and I’m confident HCC will play a key role in the marketplace.
